“My Waltz With Matilda” from Skully’s “Without A Voice” album
It begins with restrained intermittent high pitched notes from the ivories that imply the reluctance of the lady to accept the gentleman’s hand in dance. The tender melody from the Steinway encourages the reticent pair of dancers to embark on their waltz. Skully’s masterful blend of reassuring harmony carries the couple into a compatible movement of merriment.
His soft deep tones supporting the refrain reveal the roguish smile on the gentleman’s face as they glide across the floor while the interspersed twitter notes denote the lady’s nervous giggles.
The rich bass ivory keystrokes embody the strength of her dancing partner as he sweeps her into a spin-and-dip with his firm but gentle grip on her arm and she succumbs to his masculinity.
As the music fades, the couple waltz away into the night disappearing as they are enveloped by the fragrant evening mist.

The Passion of the Métisse song "My Fault"
Skully’s passionate piano melody leads in while shadowy images are formed in your mind from Aïda’s gently expressive multi-dimensional vocals which are emphasized by a sympathetic cello.
You begin to feel her “cycle of pain”: the stabbing in your heart from the betrayal; the burning sensation in your throat and lungs from the pain of fear; the tightness in your chest from crying so hard it makes you cry even more from the pain of it. Each of these agonies bind together as you feel like you could explode.
And indeed, the crescendo climax of the lamenting Hammond organ, throbbing percussion, sorrowful strings & swirling synthesized sound effects clearly depict the act of the abuse.
“Objects collide in a Tunnel of light.” As a tapping sound first in one ear and then the other...back and forth thrust you into the kaleidoscope realm while your head tosses your thoughts and you cannot grasp reality.
“The fights that I fear.” “and I'm trying not to scream...and my voice it disappears.” “Cause this is “My Fault’, And you’ve TOLD me once before.” Aïda actually does begin to lose her voice by the second refrain...struggling over the lump forming in her throat to maintain her beautiful vocals.
The heart-wrenching tale fades with a sympathetic piano and gloomy Cello.
I challenge you to read the lyrics as you listen to this song; without producing tears.
You really need to go to the Métisse Blog and read the story of how this opus was formed.
